Shipping Policy

Orders placed between Monday and Friday are shipped within 24 hours. Orders placed after 3:00 pm on Friday will be shipped the following week. You will be sent a confirmation by email when your order is shipped.

If for any reason we cannot fulfill your order within 24 hours, you will be contacted by email or phone and alternative arrangements will be made.

In the unlikely event that we are unable to fulfill your order within a satisfactory amount of time, you will have the option to cancel your order at no charge.

Shipping rates

Unless otherwise specified, thesoundpost.com uses Canada Post, United States Postal Services and UPS for all shipments. Accurate shipping quotes are provided in real time based on your shipping address and the dimensions and weight of your order. All items are shipped from our warehouse in Toronto, Canada.

Lettermail (Flat Rates)

Please note that items sent by Lettermail are not insured or tracked by the Postal Service and travel at the buyer's risk. If a shipment is lost or damaged in transit, The Sound Post will not be held responsible for replacement of the missing shipment nor will The Sound Post compensate the purchaser for any losses incurred.

We strongly advise customers to select an insured, traceable shipping method for orders of significant value.

We have gone to great lengths to be able to offer affordable shipping to most locations worldwide. Due to the high frequency of fraudulent credit card transactions and theft in certain countries, we reserve the right to require prepayment in certain instances, at our discretion. If your order is deemed to be high-risk, we will send you an email requesting prepayment by internationally recognized bank draft or wire transfer.

If you do not see your country listed above you may still order from our online store via fax or email. However, we reserve the right to require prepayment by internationally recognized bank draft or wire transfer.

Oversize

The following items are considered oversize:

• Cellos
• Basses
• Cello cases
• Bass cases
• Other extremely heavy, large or bulky items

It is not possible to provide a cost-effective quote for these items based on an automated system. Therefore, these items will be considered individually and a quote will be sent to you via email.

Customs Duties, Taxes and Fees on Shipments to addresses outside the USA and Canada

Shipments are subject to all local rules, regulations, and charges levied by local authorities. This may include duties, taxes and fees from Customs and brokerage fees. The Sound Post has no jurisdiction in such situations and hence cannot be responsible for additional costs or delays arising from local procedures.
