Popper - High School of Cello Playing, Cello II Accompaniment publicado por International Music Company.
From the editor:
I am pleased to offer these accompaniments to the 40 comprehensive and challenging etudes of David Popper's Opus 73, The High School Of Cello Playing. I began composing them to help my students navigate the chromatic episodes that many of the etudes contain, and to help their intonation by providing an uncomplicated second voice to guide and clarify the tonality.
My goal was to create accompaniments that complement and support the primary voice without being intrusive, and that retain the Romantic style of the period of this extraordinary collection. Cello students should treat these etudes as such, playing the notes accurately, of course, but first and foremost emphasizing the musical values and expressing them gracefully while developing the essentials of a solid and reliable technique.
I hope that these accompaniments ad libitum will also make the etudes more "listener friendly" and thereby encourage more cellists to program their favorites on recitals with a friend or teacher serving as second cellist. I hope that you will use and enjoy them!
